"Loving Yourself Is Recongnizing Your Gifts"

  "Love Yourself Flaws And All"

Loving yourself is recognizing your gifts and talents and putting them to good use, acknowledging your flaws and forgiving yourself for them.

Loving yourself is reaching for more, for the best, in you. If you don't know and love what's important, special, precious, and beautiful about yourself, you can be sure you will not be serenaded, sent roses, lauded, paraded,or daily smothered in kisses by someone who does.

So often women and men have put up with being treated shabby by the one they love because they didn't believe they deserved better. Self-love is always the model for the love you can expect, it's the true measure of the love you will give and get.

Your heart can only hold as much love as you believe it can, so treat yourself better.  Believe you deserve to be treated well, and you will get treated ever more wonderfully in love. In order to be well loved, you need to love yourself first for in love, we don't necessarily get the love we deserve.

Loving yourself is knowing yourself, enjoying, and valuing the person that you are, and understanding that self-knowledge is a lifelong personal enterprise. It means that you appreciate yourself at least as much as you value your sweetheart, that you know he or she is as blessed in love as you believe you are.

How can we love one another if we have not first loved ourselves? How can we find the path to that other's heart without valuing our own heart with tender care? We are the measure of the love we can deliver, the beauty of the love that we can share with a loving sweetheart.
